1st Degree black belt Noah Evans aged 16, from ‘The Martial Arts Centre - Eastbourne’ travelled to Houston, Texas last week to compete in the World Kuk Sool Championships 2014. Having dominated his age category for several years on this side of the Atlantic, winning every international title in Europe, Noah was keen to compete on the world stage. Ten years of dedication to his training and relentless practice was rewarded by winning the 1st degree Youth Grand Champion Award. This prestigious honour is given to the competitor that accumulates the most points in each division. Noah achieved this by winning four gold medals and one silver in the five compulsory disciplines, in a category that contained some of the world’s finest young martial artists. This episode entitled 'What's a Girl?', is part of the 'MY LIFE' CBBC TV series, and  was recorded at Eastbourne in November 2012. 

It features Junior members of the KUK SOOL WON of Eastbourne School and their Instructors. There is a focus on Laila Landsdowne, who is a promising young beginner and who has been training at the Martial Arts Centre - Eastbourne since April 2012.

‘CAT WOMANS’ TRAINER & STUNT DOUBLE TO OPEN NEW MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL IN BEXHILL



Tuesday September 4th2012 sees the opening of a new Martial Arts school in Bexhill, under the guidance of Chief Instructor Robin Holmes 4th Degree. The Martial Arts Centre - Bexhill will teach the Korean traditional martial art of Kuk Sool Won, which was recently featured on ITV’s Let’s Get Gold Programme.
The new club will be officially opened by Robin’s long-term training partner and 3rd Degree Kuk Sool Black Belt, Maxine Whittaker, who is also an internationally acclaimed stunt woman. Maxine’s latest role has been in ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’, not only as Cat Women’s stunt double, but also as Ann Hathaway’s personal trainer. Robin and Maxine achieved their 1st Degree
